Elizabeth (Liz) Tanti, MN, RN, GNC (C)

Liz Tanti is a registered nurse with 35 years of experience caring for the elderly, starting as a nursing attendant at the age of 18. She is a passionate supporter for all elderly, but particularly those in care. She is focused on leading organizations in the journey toward a more person-centred model of care. A skilled facilitator, Liz helps guide individuals and organizations through processes of change and cultural shift.

Liz is an active member of the Alberta Gerontological Nurses Association (AGNA) and is a past co-chair of the AGNA Advocacy Committee. She also served on the Advisory Committee for the development of the Alberta Dementia Strategy. Her work with the Alberta Health Services Seniors Clinical Network Appropriate Use of Antipsychotics Advisory Committee has led to significant decreases and changes in the use of antipsychotics in CapitalCare and in the province of Alberta.

Liz has been with CapitalCare in various roles since 2003, and became the administrator of CapitalCare Strathcona campus in 2012.

Alberta raised, Liz has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master of Nursing in Aging – both from the University of Alberta. Liz is also a graduate of the Royal Alexandra School of Nursing and holds a Certification in Gerontological Nursing GNC(C).
