The Adult Duplexes opened on June 24, 1996
in northwest Edmonton. The two adjacent duplexes provide round-the-clock
continuing care to 14 clients.
The duplexes are staffed 24 hours a day by multi-skilled staff who
provide personal care, cooking and light housekeeping services.
On-call support is available at all times from a health care professional.
Residents may access other services such as rehabilitation, pharmacy,
dietary and social work provided through CapitalCare.
Eligibility
Residents
eligible to live in a duplex are:

Adults over 18 years of age
-
Qualified for continuing care through the single point of entry
process
-
Medically stable
-
Mobile (by self or in a wheelchair)
-
Able to participate in household activities such as meal preparation,
tidying their own room, doing their own laundry or able to assist
in directing the activity
-
Able to participate in some type of weekly community program,
a minimum of 3 times a week
-
Willing to live in a group environment
-
Willing to have a physician with admitting privileges to CapitalCare
-
Able to pay the daily accommodation fee set by Alberta Health
