Meet some of our heroes
What does it
mean to serve your country?
Does it mean joining the military and fighting in a war? Protecting
people at home from lawlessness and natural disasters? Pledging
allegiance to the flag?
Yes, but more than that, serving is about giving yourself to others
and contributing to a greater cause.
Veterans are members of the armed forces who participated in an
armed conflict. Whether they were soldiers like
Jack
Owen,
paratroopers like
Ted Boldt,
or officers such as
Scott Reed,
John Ratcliff
and
Dorothy Chartrand, each made a difference.
Read about
these and other heroes.
They
sacrificed their freedom – and their youth - so we could have ours.
Canada takes care of its veterans by assisting with their health,
education and housing. And Canadians show them the respect they
deserve through Remembrance Day activities. But is that enough?
CapitalCare is the country’s largest public long-term care provider.
We fundraise to give veterans living in our centres comfort in their
old age, and to thank them for the freedom they gave us. That’s how
we serve those who served.
Run for the Brave

It’s a morning of fun and fitness for the whole family. Best of all,
