Run for the Brave
in support of
CapitalCare Kipnes Centre for Veterans

Over 200 racers converged on CFB Edmonton on August 14 for the 7th annual Run for the Brave 10km Road Race and Family Fun Walk. The run raised nearly $20,000, some of which will go towards a new rooftop solarium for the year-round enjoyment of Kipnes Centre residents. thank you to all our sponsors, contributors, volunteers, racers and donors for making this year's event the most successful it has ever been.

“To see so many people out showing their support by running, walking, wheeling and being carried, was heartwarming. I come from a military and paramilitary (RCMP-Peacekeeping) family (two generations served our country proudly). I was honored to do this for our veterans as they have given us more than we can ever show gratitude for.....OUR FREEDOM!”

- Deborah I Cartagena (Lawrence), 10K runner

In addition to the races military units served a traditional pancake breakfast from the famous flying kitchen. People climbed aboard armoured vehicles. Everyone enjoyed cool treats and kids particularly liked the bouncy castle. Edmonton Oil Kings mascot Louie entertained the crowd throughout the morning.

There were prizes for the top ten fundraisers as well as door prizes, a weekend for two in Jasper and a tank ride!
