This
program provides special care to people in the region
that have acquired a brain injury resulting in severe and unpredictable behaviours. North Horizons was opened at
Norwood on May 9, 2006.
Residents
with an acquired brain injury accompanied by severe and unpredictable
behaviours live in a safe, secure environment where they can either
‘age in place’ or return to the community if possible.
The goal is to provide as much freedom as possible by giving physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual care as well as comfort and compassion
to the patient, family and friends.
Care
Team
The
care
team meets regularly to identify
and address the needs of all program residents through team meetings
and ongoing interdisciplinary consultation.
